Susan Calman Shows Off Impressive Weight Loss After Health Scare

Susan Calman is glowing with pride after revealing a huge transformation. The 50-year-old comedian, known for her joyful energy on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2017, recently opened up about her life-changing fitness journey. And the results are nothing short of inspiring.

In her own words, Susan “never thought it was possible.” But she did it anyway.

Her Health Gave Her a Wake-Up Call

In December 2023, Susan decided it was time for a change. Her health was in a “precarious position,” and she knew she had to act. It wasn’t just about how she looked—it was about how she felt inside.

She shared with fans that this wasn’t some quick fix. It took months of dedication and honesty with herself. She didn’t hide the fact that it was hard. But she also made it clear that she didn’t do it alone.

Her wife, Lee Cormack, and her trainer at @redefinept were right beside her. Susan credits these two women as being the most supportive people in her life.

Dropping Over 35 Pounds—and Gaining Strength

By August 2024, just eight months after starting, Susan had already dropped 2.5 stone. Not long after, she celebrated another stone lost. In total, she’s shed over 35 pounds.

But what really stood out was how she showed her progress. Susan posted a photo with two kettlebells to represent her weight loss—22 kilograms in total. “They didn’t have one heavy enough,” she joked.

She said it best: “It’s taken 17 months of eating better and moving more. But it’s not just about losing weight.” For Susan, the biggest win has been getting stronger, both physically and mentally.

Weight Lifting Changed Everything

Susan didn’t just focus on cardio or counting calories. Her main method? Strength training.

She lifts weights. A lot. She made it clear that this wasn’t a crash diet. It was about showing up, staying consistent, and doing the work.

Her blood pressure is now under control. Her energy is higher. And her mental health? That’s also seen a big shift.

Mental Health Boost Was Just as Important

Susan has always been open about her struggles with anxiety and depression. She didn’t sugarcoat how tough this journey has been.

“It’s a real struggle sometimes,” she admitted. “It takes far more mental strength than anything else.”

But lifting weights, moving more, and eating better helped her feel grounded. Stronger. Calmer. She’s in a more positive space now, and that part of the transformation is just as valuable.

She Wants Others to Know It’s Possible

Susan knows how surprising her transformation might look to people who haven’t seen her in a while. In fact, someone even asked if she was unwell because of how much weight she lost. That’s one of the reasons she shared her journey on social media.

She didn’t post to show off. She wanted people to know that it was for her health. And more than anything, she wanted to prove that it’s never too late to change your life.

“If I can do it, anyone can,” she wrote. “If you want to. I think you’re smashing the way you are x.”

It’s clear that Susan’s story isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about feeling stronger. Living longer. And being able to take on the world with confidence.
